Theodore "Ted" J. Hecker

Theodore Joseph Hecker “Ted” age 64 passed away suddenly Friday, May 26, 2023 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio. Born February 21, 1959 in Troy, Ohio to the late Robert and Martha (Boerger) Hecker. Ted is survived by his siblings: Thomas Hecker of Tipp City, James (Debbie) Hecker of Wyoming Minnesota, Daniel (Lisa) Hecker of Dublin, California, and Dianna (John) Borchers of Tipp City. Nieces and Nephews: Jason (Stephanie) Borchers, Andrew (Bailey) Hecker, Nicholas (Ailene) Hecker, Lauren Hecker, and Elizabeth (Matthew) Schmahl. He is preceded in death by his brother Michael Hecker, 2022.

Ted was a special, caring person who had many friends throughout his lifetime. He was an avid Indianapolis 500 fan and attended the last 47 years. He was especially talented at playing the guitar (self-taught) and played in several bands in the area. He was a member of the Tipp City VFW and Eagle’s.

He was a graduate of Tippecanoe High School Class of 1977. After high school, he entered the United States Navy, completing his service obligation. Ted was employed at G.E. Aviation in Vandalia for over 30 years. Ted loved his hometown and liked to hike, canoe, and take photos along the Great Miami River.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church, 753 S. Hyatt St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371 with viewing from 10:00-12:00 PM with Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon. Father Robert Hale Celebrant. Burial to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City.
