Schwieterman, Rodney Henry age 81 of Tipp City, Ohio passed away Thursday September 21, 2023. He was born July 27, 1942 in Collinsville, Illinois to Clarence and Emily Schwieterman. Rodney is preceded in death by his parents, wife; Margaret Schwieterman, brother; Douglas J. Schwieterman and sister; Gloria J. Reich. He is survived by brothers; Fredrick (Marsha) Schwieterman of Bellbrook, Ohio and Gary Schwieterman of Troy, Ohio, sister; Debora (Dave) Mullins of Troy, Ohio and sister-in-law; Laura Schwieterman of Tipp City. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and step children.
The family returned to their hometown of Dayton, Ohio after WWII. He graduated from Chaminade High School class of 1960. Rod’s work life began at Schwieterman Hardware before landing a job with Reynolds & Reynolds where he sold automotive forms in Florida and Alabama for over 39 years before retiring. He married Margaret, on March 20, 1976. They spent many devoted years together before her passing in 2012. Rod was a lifelong car enthusiast and was known for his award winning 1964 Pontiac Catalina 2+2. He was a member of the Pontiac Oakland Club International (POCI) car club. He often attended the Tipp City Mum Festival and other regional car shows. He liked fishing, and he enjoyed traveling to Colorado, State and National Parks.
Visitation will be held 10:00 AM until time of service at Noon Wednesday September 27, 2023 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371.
