Norma Jean Reineke

Norma Jean Reineke, age 80, of The Village of Liberty Park in The Villages, Florida, left this earthly realm on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Darke County, Ohio on August 19, 1943, to Orville and Kathryn (Lantz) Schilling.

Norma graduated from Versailles High School in 1961 and studied Accounting and Finance at Miami-Jacobs Career College. She married Robert A. “Bob” Reineke on July 6, 1963. After working for 25 years, first as a teacher aide then secretary of Nevin Coppock Elementary School in Tipp City, Ohio, she retired in 2002. Upon retirement, Norma and Bob moved to The Villages, Florida in 2008.

She is survived by her three sons: Jeffrey of Kettering, Ohio; David (Christine) of La Crosse, Wisconsin; and Steven (Eric) of New York, New York as well as her eight grandchildren: Benjamin, Connor, Anna, Wolfgang, Alex, Emma, Cara, and Matthew Reineke. She is also survived by her brother Ron Schilling and her sisters Barbara Myers (Schilling) and Carol Sommers (Schilling) as well as her sister-in-law Ann Bush (Reineke) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her parents Orville and Kathryn Schilling, as well as her sister Janet Byrum (Schilling).

Norma loved spending time with her many friends and family in Florida. Some of her favorite activities were golfing, playing cards and mah-jongg, and going to the movie theater. However, the most precious thing in the world to her was spending time with her sons and her grandchildren. She was a warm, caring, and loving person that treated everyone she encountered with kindness. We couldn’t have asked for a better mother and will miss Norma every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 753 S. Hyatt St., Tipp City, OH 45371. Burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Tipp City.
