Michael "Mike" Dean Obituary

Michael (Mike) Dean, beloved husband, father, grandfather and fishing/camping buddy of many, passed from this world to be with Jesus on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Pat and J.R. Dean. He had been ill in many ways for several years and it was time for him to go home to be with the Lord. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Wills Dean, his childhood sweetheart, married in 1967, the fishing buddy of his loving son Michael Jay Dean (Jenny Garwood Dean), the adored father of his dedicated daughter Robyn Marie Caskey (Mark Caskey) and happily blessed and adoring grandfather of Kaili Marie Titley, McKenzie Lynn Dean, Alaina Jannette Titley, Kaden Michael Dean and Grant William Titley. He will be sadly missed by his sister Sue Reese (Richard, Heather), his sister JayAnn Evans (Rick), his sister Diane Mahoney and his brother Darryl Dean. Brother-in-law Marty Wills had a special closeness to Mike, growing up with him in Trotwood and being close to the same age. He was very dear to his sister-in-law and brother-in-law DeeDee and Gary Schardein. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Scott and Traci Wills, so greatly loved, have always been dear to his heart and a great positive influence on him and everyone else they meet.

Carma Drive in the 1960’s, where both Mike and Barb grew up, holds so many loving memories of old friends and fun times. Mike worked at GM’s Delco Moraine on Wagoner Ford Rd in Dayton since 1967 and retired in 1998; he loved his good work buddies. Terry Bogan was an extra special GM friend for many years. After retiring, he worked as a driver for Voss Honda in Tipp City, a job he also enjoyed. Mike always gave his all and was happy wherever he was.

Mike’s favorite place to be was with his grandchildren at sports events or fishing and camping with them at Camp Qtokee. He also loved fishing with his favorite buddies Jack Thiebeau, Doug Wesco, Kevin Ryan and Chuckie and Amy. Many other camping friends stopped by to chat and always made him so happy; the list is never-ending. He truly loves them all and the beautiful lake. Mike will be missed so much and has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled. As you walk the shores of God’s beautiful heaven today, Mike, we are all missing you but happy “your soul is safe and free living with God through eternity.” The words to your favorite song which Barb often sang to you, echo in her ears daily and she will sing it and tell stories about you to your kids and grandkids and maybe even great grandkids.

Mike, you will always live in our hearts and minds. We will love you forever and ever.
