Obituary

On the morning of May 23, 2023 Marvin William Ware of West Carrolton, Ohio passed away peacefully in his home, just two days after turning 81. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Jean {Glaser} Ware of Tipp City, Ohio. In addition to his wife, Marvin is survived by two children; Julie (Matthew) Baird and Scott W. (Carmen) Ware, and granddaughter Gabrielle (Trey) Ware-Baird, as well as, countless relatives, friends and co-workers. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, step-father Alfred Millat and his loving sister Shirley Hall.

Marvin was born May 21, 1942 in Sidney, Ohio to the late Norman D. Ware and Sue (Burch) Millat. He was a 1960 graduate of Troy High School. He served in the Navy from 10/1960-09/1964 on the Aircraft Carrier USS Independence CVA 62 as a Nuclear Weaponsmen, doing several cruises in the Mediterranean and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After the Navy, Marvin continued as a Contractor for the Department of Energy at the Mound Laboratory in Miamisburg, Ohio for 38 years, retiring in 12/2002. Marvin felt his mission in life was to provide for his family, never missing work except during his battle with cancer. Marvin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was extremely mechanical and could repair anything. Marvin was a gifted story teller with a keen sense of humor, a knowledgeable man with a wealth of information about history, mechanics, and life in general. He was one of a kind and will be deeply missed.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made in Marvin’s memory to Hospice of Dayton, 7575 Paragon Rd., Dayton, OH 45459. Arrangements have been entrusted to FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, Tipp City.
