Jewell A. Curtis age 74 of Troy, Ohio passed away Wednesday November 9, 2022 at Ohio's Hospice of Miami County after a valiant battle with cancer. She was Born October 4, 1948 in Delbarton, West Virginia to James Ramey and Bessie {Curry} Ramey. Jewell is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Ed Curtis, daughter; Jennifer Phelps and brother; Eddie “Buddy” Ramey. Jewell is survived by sister; Carrie (Walter) Justice and two grandchildren; Madeline & Masen Phelps.
Jewell graduated Burch High School where she was a cheerleader. Her love for cheer began a legacy of 3 generations in her family as Jenny and Maddy both followed in her footsteps. In 1966 she moved to Ohio and met the love of her life, Ed and got married in 1967. She began her career at Hobart then she moved her talents to the Miami County Courts where she was a court reporter and secretary to Judge Bill Kessler for 20 plus years . Jewell was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy. She was strong in faith and loved spending time with her Prayer Warrior's. Jewell loved hosting large family gatherings, spending time with her grandchildren and going to their sporting events. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to extend their extreme gratitude to her many friends, church, neighbors and the medical staff of Hospice of Miami County.
Visitation will be Friday November 18, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday November 19, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 409 E. Main St., Troy, Ohio 45373; Father Eric Bowman, Celebrant.
