Janice A. Daugherty

Daugherty, Janice A, age 74 of Tipp City, Ohio passed away peacefully Sunday, June 11, 2023.  Born June 4, 1949 in Valley Stream, New York to Henry and Annabelle (DeCurtins) McCrink.  She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Dennis McCrink.  Janice is survived by her husband, Michael Daugherty, her brother, Frank (Vera), and her three children; Holly (Andrew Drake), Kevin (Kristi), and David. Also surviving are three granddaughters: Vivian (Holly), Julia (Kevin), and Gwendolyn (Kevin).

As a child, Janice moved to Dayton, Ohio with her parents and two brothers, Dennis and Frank, where she ultimately graduated from Saint Joseph Commercial High School. A chance meeting between Janice and Michael in 1971 at a University of Dayton hot spot, The Shed, led to lifelong romance, and the two were married in 1973. Many will remember Janice as both a talented artist and entrepreneur, and she found a calling creating and selling handmade crafts in stores and craft shows across Ohio. 

In 2008, Michael and Janice became snowbirds, spending winters in Celebration, Florida, where they enjoyed days exploring Walt Disney World parks and resorts.  She treasured walking around Disney soaking up the sun, but especially loved the ambiance during festive times of the year with the elaborate decorations and holiday spirit.  For Janice, the best of all was welcoming her family for a visit to Celebration spent lounging in the pool, fishing, sightseeing, biking, and visiting the Disney parks and the Cocoa Beach area.

Visitation will be held Friday July 21, 2023 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM Saturday July 22, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Tipp City with a visitation one hour prior to Mass.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in Janice’s memory to please consider the Arthritis Foundation (https://www.arthritis.org/honor-memorial-form).  Arrangements have been entrusted to FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W.
