James R. "Pops" Honeycutt

Honeycutt, James R. “Pops” age 73 of Tipp City, passed away Thursday January 14, 2021 in Dayton, OH. Born October 1, 1947 in Dayton, OH to Walter and Hazel {Reed} Honeycutt. He is preceded in death by his father and brother Jerry Honeycutt. James is survived by his mother; Hazel, wife of 48 years; Bonnie {Gay} Honeycutt, Tipp City, OH, son; Chad (Deena) Honeycutt, St. Paris, OH, daughter Jennifer Honeycutt, Tipp City, OH, grandchildren; Caitlyn Smith, Logan Weikert, Kiara & Karissa Bui, Hanna, Siera, Jeffrey and Lillie Honeycutt and great grandchildren; Ava, Maddox & Willow.

James proudly served his country in the United State Navy during Vietnam and was employed by General Motors; Delphi, Moraine as a plumber.  He was a member of the VFW #4615 and Eagles Lodge #2201, Tipp City, OH.  James enjoyed golf, boating, euchre, casinos and dancing. He loved his family dearly; especially his grandkids.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St. Tipp City, OH 45371; Chaplain Randy Reed, officiating.  Burial will follow in Dayton Nation Cemetery.  Visitation 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home.  Contributions may be made in loving memory of James to the Wounded Warrior Project; PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517 or online at;
