Charles William Caudy, 82, died December 11, 2021 at Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek, Ohio. He was born on March 29, 1939 in Pickaway County, Ohio to the late Virgil Francis and Rhoda Bernadine {Stoer} Caudy. On December 17, 1960 Charles married Marilyn Kay Evans and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons: John and Amy Caudy of Miamisburg, Ohio and Robert and Kristin Caudy of Columbus, Ohio. Five grandchildren: Laurie (Mike) Whipkey of Mason, Beka (Austin) Wyen of Fairborn, Robert (Camila) Caudy of Atlanta, Gwyn Caudy and Owen Caudy both of Columbus. Three great grandsons: Connor Whipkey, Gavin Whipkey, and Blake Wyen. Charles also has three surviving sisters: Mary Lou Murphy of Florida/Maryland, Pat (Jim) Mescher of Vandalia, and Kay (David) Gill of Florida, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother and his wife Allan and Deanna Caudy, and nephews Larry Caudy and Eric Evans.
Chuck, as he was known, graduated from Troy High School in 1957, The Ohio State University in 1962, and retired in 1995 after completing 30 years as an Air Force Civilian at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Throughout his life he was an involved person, helping with organizations like C.I.S.V. in Miami County, over 10 years with the Miami East Music Programs (Band). He helped with youth sports programs like Bethel Baseball and area soccer teams. He was instrumental in initiating the Area Youth Soccer Association which was the forerunner of the Bethel and Miami East Associations.
Chuck was a member of the Miami Valley Antique Fire Apparatus Association, the Ohio Genealogy Society, the Welsh Society, and the Tipp City Senior Citizens. He was a member of the Tippecanoe Masonic Lodge #174 and the Antioch Shriners where he was a Bobbie for several years. He was also a 50 year member of the Grange.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 with Pastor Greg Morrow officiating immediately following the Masonic Services. Burial will be at Casstown Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00-2:00 PM on Wednesday at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. A celebration meal will be held at the Cove Spring Church on Walnut Grove afterward. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Dayton, Masonic Home in Springfield, Ohio, Hospice of Miami County, the Dayton Food Bank, or the charity of your choice.
