Carolyn R. Swisher, 90, of Tipp City, Ohio passed away peacefully on April 29, 2023 at home after several years of illness. She was born in Champaign County, Ohio on April 26, 1933 to the late Denton and Alice Calland. She married Robert Swisher on December 20, 1953 who survives. She is also survived by two sons Stephen (Lisa) Swisher of Heber City, UT, Thomas (Lorna) Swisher of Tipp City, OH, five grandchildren; Eric Swisher, Robert (Tami) Swisher, Taylor (Riley) Giesler, Savannah (David) Dupras, and Sarah (Logan) Donovan, and great-grandson Jack Swisher. She is preceded in death by a son Kevin Swisher, a grandson Justin Swisher and a brother, Lynn Calland.
Mrs. Swisher was a member of the West Charleston Church of the Brethren and took great joy in taking her granddaughters with her to church and Sunday school. She attended the Ohio State University and was a member of the Alpha Xi sorority. She was a homemaker for much of her life but also worked as a medical transcriptionist for several years. Carolyn cherished her family and loved playing cards with her first cousins. She was very influential in her family’s lives, especially her grandchildren, who will miss her deeply. Carolyn was known for always being impeccably dressed, she loved delicious desserts, and especially enjoyed lots of Cool Whip on her pumpkin pie.
A visitation to honor Carolyn will be held at Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH on Friday, May 19 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM with a memorial service directly following at 6:00 PM. A private graveside service will be held in West Liberty, OH at a later date. Funeral arrangements are being provided to the family through Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home.
