Alex Christopher Moritz age 27 of Dayton, Ohio passed away Sunday June 25, 2023. Alex was born on November 17th, 1995 in Tecumseh, Michigan to Donald and Heidi {Nitschmann} Moritz. Alex is survived by his loving wife of 5 years; Alexandra (Alex) Moritz, parents Don and Heidi Moritz, siblings Justin (Maria) Moritz and Lauren Moritz, niece Camille and nephew Jackson “JJ” Moritz, in-laws; Jefferson and Jana Helstad, and Alexandra’s siblings Eleanor, Jeffrey, Olivia, Isabel, and Johnny Helstad. Alex is further survived by his grandmother Elfriede Nitschmann, and several adored aunts, uncles, and cousins. Alex is preceded in death by his grandparents; Elmer and Rita Moritz and Manfred Nitschmann, his Aunt Kathy Carr and Uncles Thomas Moritz and Paul Witte.
Alex received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wright State University in 2018. He proudly served as a Registered ER Nurse for 5 years at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, OH. Alex was a certified EMT, and had the opportunity to begin his travel nursing career in the Cincinnati area. Alex enjoyed being outdoors; fishing, hunting, golfing, and spending time with their beloved dog, Lucy. He loved going on trips with his wife Alex and vacationing at their family cabin in Michigan. Alex’s greatest love was spending time with his family and friends. He is best known for his servant heart, his kind and gentle spirit towards others, and his contagious sense of humor.
A public visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the public funeral service at 1:00 PM Friday, June 30th, 2023 at the Christian Life Center, 3489 Little York Rd, Dayton, OH 45414. Pastor Johnathon Newman will be officiating the service. A private burial will follow for the family of Alex Moritz at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, OH. All are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life that will be held on Saturday, July 1st at 6388 St. Rt. 55 Ludlow Falls, OH from 4:00-9:00 PM.
