Jones, Zay M. Jr. 86 of Tipp City passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at SpringMeade Health Center, Tipp City. Born April 6, 1929 in Rawson, OH to Zay M. and Ola {Palmer} Jones Sr. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Tom Jones, Marguerite Jones, Lorren Jones, Leonard Jones, Irma Jones, Lois Potter, George Jones, Vernice Judd, Betty Moore, Dwayne Jones and Bob Jones. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Doris {Kipp} Jones, 2 daughters, Annette (Paul) Hoverman, Van Wert, OH, Diana (Peter) Chatigny, Hudson, OH, sister, Joan Kirk, Springfield, OH, and 7 grandchildren. Zay was a member of the Tipp City United Methodist Church (serving as a trustee), American Legion Post #586, Masonic Lodge #0174, Rotary and was very active in the Tipp City Chamber of Commerce. He has been a citizen of Tipp City since 1934 and was named Citizen of the Year in 1988. Zay was a real estate appraiser and broker for many years and was named Realtor of the Year for Miami County in 1976. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 10, 2015 at Tipp City United Methodist Church, 8 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH. Pastor Bonita Ritchie will be officiating, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the church.
