Leiss, Wilmer J. 97 formerly of Tipp City passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Friendship Village, Dayton, Ohio. Born August 8, 1915 in Jonesville, Michigan to Harry J. and Amanda {Hartman} Leiss. Wilmer is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy Jean {Sprecher} Leiss, brother, Roy Leiss and son in-law, John Giambri. He is survived by his daughters; Nancy and her husband Dave Imler, Tipp City, Ohio and Patty and her husband Dick Zimmerman, Troy, Ohio along with grandchildren; Russ (Andrea) Imler, Shelley (Tom) Weaver, Michael (Christal) Giambri and Roxanna Giambri. Wilmer was a 1933 graduate of Staunton High School. He co-owned Leiss Dry Cleaners in Tipp City, was a member of the Rotary Club, Historical Society, Tipp City United Methodist Church, the Chamber of Commerce and was a driver for the "Handy Van" providing transportation for those in need. Wilmer was also chosen as "Citizen of the Year". Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 14, 2013 at Tipp City United Methodist Church, 8 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371, Pastor Bonita Wood officiating, burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service at the church.
