Payne, William "Bill" Jennings age 86 of Lexington, Kentucky formerly of Tipp City, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2025 at his home. He was born September 8, 1939 in Hindman, Kentucky to Edgar and Lula {Gibson} Payne. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Shelly Payne and siblings; Anna Morse, June Handshoe Cory and James Payne. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years; Phyllis {Ball} Payne of Lexington, Kentucky, daughter; Amy (John) Roberts of Lexington, Kentucky and siblings, Robert (Yolly) Payne of Florida and Barbara Beutel of Dayton, Ohio.
Bill received his Master's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky. For 30 years Bill worked as a teacher for Huber Heights Schools. Bill loved to travel and hike through the mountains. He especially enjoyed exploring the Grand Canyon. Bill's favorite hobby was buying and rehabbing houses. His greatest love was for his family. Bill was a wonderful man that will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held at 10:30 AM until time of service at 11:30 AM Tuesday February 11, 2025 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME , 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. Burial to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests that anyone wishing to make memorial contributions in Bill's honor to please consider a charity of your choice.
