Metzger, William Kenneth "Bill" age 71 of Tipp City, OH passed away after a lengthy illness at the VA Hospital, Dayton, OH on Tuesday, March 07, 2017 at 5:52 AM, surrounded by family. Born October 11, 1945 in Dayton, OH to the late Richard Kenneth and Gertrude Marie {Gretsinger} Metzger. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Connie Jo {Lockhart} Metzger, Tipp City, sons, William "Bill" Metzger Jr. and his wife Staci, Troy, OH and Jeremy "Jerry" Metzger and his wife Susan, Hartland, WI. Also surviving are sisters, Vicki (Jack) Allen, McMinnville, OR and Cindy Metzger, Troy, OH, grandchildren, Stephanie and Courtney Metzger, Troy, OH and Abigail "Abbey", Jeremiah and Anna all of WI, 2 nieces Kaci and Angela and nephew Jack. Bill was a 1963 graduate of Meadowdale High School, Dayton, OH. He was a member of the VFW, Vandalia Post, umpired baseball and softball in Miami and Montgomery County and was an avid golfer. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371; Funeral service immediately following at 2:00 PM on Thursday; Pastor Bonita Ritchie officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City.
