Teresa Lynn Pierre, age 59, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 31, 2016. Teresa was surrounded by family at the time of her passing. Teresa Pierre was born in Troy, Ohio on the morning of May 2, 1957. She was the first child and daughter of Joan Marie (Johnson) McKenzie and Gordon Dale Pittenger, Sr. She was a lifelong resident of Tipp City, Ohio where she graduated high school in 1975. Teresa worked 30+ years at Chmiel's Market and the past few year for Komyo Logistics in Troy, Ohio. Outside of work Teresa loved spending time in her garden and tending to her flowers with her dog Max by her side. Teresa loved her family and spent many hours at her grandsons' soccer and football games. She was also an avid photographer and enjoyed scrapbooking, chronicling the lives and accomplishments of those whom she loved. Teresa was truly a selfless woman who regularly put other's needs above her own. She was a hard worker who was dedicated to her family and would drop everything in an instant to be there for her family and friends. Teresa was preceded in death by: Nephew Jacob Pittenger of Missouri. Teresa is survived by her husband Bill Pierre of Tipp City, OH; daughters Jaime Thomas (& husband Noah) of New Carlisle, OH, Jody (DiGirolamo) Willoughby (& husband James) of Tipp City, OH, and Jessica Pierre (& Dustin Colbert) of Tipp City, OH; step-son Joshua Pierre (& wife Sarah Srnec Pierre), grandchildren Bradley & Brandon Thomas of New Carlisle, OH, Alex & Claire Willoughby of Tipp City, OH Avery, Preston & Camden Pierre of Columbus, OH, and Adelyn Colbert of Tipp City, OH; parents Gordon Pittenger, Sr. (& wife Joanna) of Tipp City, OH, and Joan (Johnson) McKenzie (& husband James) of Tipp City, OH; brothers Gordon Pittenger, Jr. (& wife Linda) of Troy, OH, William Pittenger (& wife Julie) of Lake of the Ozarks, MO. Nephews Andrew and Chris Pittenger of Troy, OH; nieces Alexa, Alysson & Alyssa Pittenger of Lake of the Ozarks, MO. Her beauty, wealth of selflessness and friendly smile will be sorely missed by all of her friends and family. A viewing will be held from 4-7pm at Ginghamsburg Church, 6759 S. Co. Rd. 25a on Friday, November 4. A memorial service will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Miami County Humane Society.
