Sumner, Steven Crompton 55 of Tipp City passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, OH. Born August 11, 1959 in Dayton, OH to Earl C. and Helen {Barrett} Sumner. He is preceded in death by his father, Earl Sumner. He is survived by his mother, Helen Sumner, Tipp City, sister, Katharine (Tony) Jackson, Tipp City, OH, brother, Christopher B. Sumner, Bloomfield, IN, sister, Carol (Jim) Burdette, Grove City, OH, nephew, Brad Hobbs, Grove City, OH, nieces, Jackie Hobbs, Tipp City, OH, Lisa Sumner, Greenwood, IN and Katie Burdette, Grove City, OH. Steven attended Tippecanoe High School and was self-employed as a handyman. He was the former scout leader for Boy Scouts, Troop #395, Tipp City, and was a member of the Tipp City United Methodist Church. He loved fixing things and was a loving and devoted son. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Tipp City United Methodist Church, 8 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH; Pastor Bonita Ritchie officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 PM prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371. Contributions may be made in loving memory of Steven to the Tipp City United Methodist Church.
