Klint, Shirley Lorraine (nee Gilbert) - Shirley L. Klint, a resident of Springmeade Health Center in Tipp City, Ohio, passed away peacefully of natural causes on January 2, 2010. Born in Peoria, Illinois in 1917 to Enoch and Laura Jones Gilbert, Mrs. Klint resided for more than 50 years with her husband Robert and family in Springfield, Illinois before relocating to Tipp City in 1997. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert E. Klint, her eldest son Ronald Robert Klint, and three daughters-in-law; Eugenia Kay (Johnson) Klint of Roseville, California, Glenda May (Brown) Klint of Troy, Ohio, and Kimberly Karen (Schaible) Klint of Cincinnati, Ohio. She is survived by her sons, William E. Klint of Troy, Ohio, and Edward A. Klint of Cincinnati, Ohio, her brother, Mr. Robert Gilbert of Springfield, Illinois, and her sister, Mrs. Betty Jane Gobble of Springfield, Illinois. Mrs. Klint is also survived by five grandsons, five great-granddaughters, six great-grandsons, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Klint was an avid reader and a patron of the Tipp City Library. She loved to sew, knit and crochet, and enjoyed flowers and watching birds, especially cardinals and goldfinches. She enjoyed cards and playing Bunco with her friends, and liked to keep herself sharp by doing the Sunday crossword. Shirley Klint was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Illinois, along with her husband Robert, for over 50 years. She was a proud member of the Sunshine Class and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Funeral services 2 PM Thursday January 7th at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME 327 W. Main St. Tipp City, Ohio 45371, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. Visitation on Thursday beginning at noon until time of service at 2PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who would like to make memorial remembrances do so in the form of donations to the Tipp City Public Library, 11 E. Main St. Tipp City, Ohio 45371
