Sharron Rae
Braun
April 6, 1943 – September 8, 2017
Sharron Rae Braun, aged 74, passed away peacefully, on September 8, 2017 following her courageous and inspiring 3 year battle with cancer. In her final days she was surrounded by her family and loved ones at the home of her eldest son Jeff (Vicki) Varvel in Tipp City, Ohio. Sharron was born in Troy, Ohio to Ed and Helen Betty Cooper.
Sharron was a proud lifelong resident of the Dayton area. She was a graduate of Tipp City High School in 1961. Sharron was also the very first Tipp City Mum Queen in 1959. She went on to a very fulfilling 50 year career as an executive assistant at Ponderosa and Cargill. She retired in 2012 from Cargill Corn Milling, Inc., a company she was proud to work for and where she made many lifelong friends.
Sharron kept her faith in the Lord and her family at the center of her life. She was her families' biggest cheerleader and number one fan! She rarely missed a sporting event, school event or special occasion for her children or grandchildren. It brought her such joy to have a close family and she relished the role as the "glue" that made it all stick together! Sharron also loved to travel. Her favorite place was under an umbrella, in a chair, with her toes in the sand while staring at a beautiful beach.
Sharron was known for her giving spirit and she never put her needs above others. She is famous for her sarcasm and quick dry wit! Her family and friends will forever remember her laughing spells that often ended in tears! She brightened every room she walked in to. Her life impacted many and her legacy of unwavering faith and strong family values will live on in her children and grandchildren.
Sharron is preceded in death by her parents Ed and Betty Cooper and her beloved sister Janice Williams. She is survived by her sons Jeff (Vicki) Varvel, Todd (Shannon) Varvel and Greg (Sarah) Varvel. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Holden, Jordanne, Evan, Mikenna, Arielle, Hailee, Chace, Anna and Claire. Sharron is also survived by her brother-in-law Tom (Betty) Williams and his children Julie (Mike) Polachek and Scott Williams.
