Curtis, Samuel Harry "DJ Sammy", 59 of Tipp City passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Heartland of Piqua. Born June 13, 1956 in Troy, OH to Marion "Joe" and Lois {Carpenter} Curtis. He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Curtis and sister, Gloria Clutter. He is survived by his mother, Lois Curtis, Tipp City, OH, children; Danial (Leslie) Curtis, Troy, OH, Jennifer (Gary) Neff, DeGraff, OH, Angel (Joe) Riffell, Sidney, OH, Jessica Curtis, Sidney, OH and Joey Curtis, Troy, OH along with his brother, Rex Curtis, Wylie, TX, grandchildren; Sammy, Danielle, Ethan & Jaclyn Curtis, Caden & Tailey Neff, Jamie & Jacob Riffell, Sage & Rosalena Bryant and great grandchildren, Jason Curtis and Joel Neff. Sam was a 1975 graduate of Tippecanoe High School and had been a DJ at weddings and parties for many years. He was one of the hardest working men and carried 2 jobs most of his life and never missed work. He was the best father; always there for anyone who needed him. He was kind, loving, outgoing, strong and a fighter. He loved the outdoors and going hiking. His passion for music led him to his long career as a DJ. Sam never missed a game or meet for his children. He coached sports for many years in Covington, OH. His biggest regret and hardest part of all he's gone through is he will not be able to see his youngest son grow up and coach his football team or whatever sport he chooses to play. He won't be able to see him graduate and will miss all the adventures of his life. He truly loved his children and enjoyed the time he had with them. Although his family will have many fond memories of him, he will be dearly missed as a daily part of their lives. A Celebration of Life will be held at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371. Hospice Chaplain, Ed Ellis officiating. Visitation will be held from 7:00 PM until the time of service at 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in loving memory of Sam to Hospice of Miami County.
