Russell L. Kidder, age 72 of Somerset, KY, departed this life on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at his residence. He was born on March 27, 1940 in Hillsboro, Ohio to the late Denver Russell and Helen McCall Kidder. He served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1967. He formerly worked in maintenance at Occidental Petroleum. He is survived by his wife, Carmen Rita Wiegand Kidder, whom he married in New York, NY on June 2, 1962, two grandchildren, Shannon Rae (John) Jones of San Antonia, TX and Russell Wayne Kidder of Somerset, KY; two great grandchildren, John Cameron Jones and Jordon Cole Jones of San Antonio, TX; four sisters; Vivian Smith of Tipp City, OH, Janet Lou (Doyle) Owens of Oxford, MI; Carol (Larry) Haskett of Somerset, KY and Sharon (Ken) Fischer of Somerset, KY. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Russell Charles Kidder, and a daughter, Kathleen Marie Kidder. Visitation will be held Friday, May 18, 2012 after 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, KY with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM with Brother Clyde Strunk officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Tipp City, OH, 11:00 AM Monday, May 21, 2012.
