Obituary

Goodin, Roscoe Franklin age 89 passed away Sunday August 7, 2011 in Kissimmee, Florida. Born January 18, 1922 to Allen and Roxie Goodin from Tipp City, Ohio. He was one of eight children and a 1943 graduate of Tipp City High School. As a member of the United States Army he received a Purple Heart serving in the Philippines during WWII with the 1st Cavalry Division. He became a life member of the Tipp City American Legion after his return. Roscoe also served as a volunteer fireman with the Tipp City Fire Department for 15 years which he enjoyed with many of his friends. He retired from Dayton Power and Light after completing 33 years in management with the gas division in Miami County. He is survived by his wife, Irene J. {Haaga} Goodin with whom he celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary on April 13, 2011. Also surviving are his children; Elizabeth (Mike) Green and David (Marjorie) Goodin, grandchildren; Brad (Nicole) Ostendorf, Blake Ostendorf, Beth Ostendorf, Tracy (Jeremiah) Hunt, Benjamin (Lindsay) Goodin and Daniel Goodin, great grandchildren; Mikayla, Sofia, Grayce, Lillian, Amanda and Kylee. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Grissoms Funeral Home in Florida and will be transferred to FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME 327 W. Main St. Tipp City, Ohio 45371. A graveside service to be held at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City at 10:00 AM on Saturday August 27, 2011. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roscoe's name to The Tipp-Monroe Fire Association or American Legion Post 586 Tipp City.
