Hess, Robert D. passed away Friday, August 5th at his home. He was born on November, 26, 1932 to the late Ralph and Mildred Hess. He graduated in 1952 from Fairview High School in Dayton. Robert is survived by his loving wife Joan C. (Peters) Hess of 51 years, daughters Barbara Roehrborn of Gretna, Nebraska and Kathy Eyer of Eaton, Ohio, sister-in-law Marilyn Hess of Englewood, Ohio also survived by many other family members and friends. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Hugh B. Hess, brother-in-law James E. Peters and sister-in-law Joyce A. Shambeck. He proudly served 8 years in the United States Army, 1745 Company E 350th Infantry. He loved NASCAR, boat racing and was an avid car enthusiast. He retired from NCR after 39 years of faithful service. Thank you to the nurses and staff of Hospice of Miami County for the care and compassion that was given to him and the family.
