Obituary

Paul L. Struewing, born March 21, 1927 in Greene County to Louis and Anna Struewing, passed on Friday, July 4, 2025 at Troy's Kettering Hospital surrounded by grandchildren and children. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen in 2010, his parents, seven of his siblings and their spouses, and granddaughter KyleVarvel-White in 2021. His surviving family includes sister Joan Rose, children Joyce Struewing, Thomas (Carolyn) Struewing, and Nonda (Charles) Harvey; grandchildren Brett Wolfe, David (Tiffany) Banas, Ashley (Joshua) Jones, Ian (Katie) Struewing, Aaron (Melissa) Struewing, Nathan Struewing, Robert (Lauren) Struewing, Jennifer (EJ) White, Heather (Mark) Vujevich, Jacob (Michael-Lynn) Evans, Lesley (Patrick) Hellman, Jon (Tina) Harvey and Jennifer Haeufle; 30 great and step great children that called him great-grandpa, a large extended family, plus special friends MaryKay Alpers, Bob Price, Dave McCray, Dale and Sharon Ullery.

Following his 1945 graduation from Cedarville High School, Paul served in the US Army post- WWII. On the GI Bill he attended BGSU and graduated from The Ohio State University, and then received his Masters from Wittenberg. He spent his education career in Tipp City Schools, serving as VoAg and industrial arts teacher, counselor, high school principal and assistant superintendent. He especially enjoyed advising his high school FFA students and meeting adult farmers in "The 100-Bushel Corn Club".

For many years, with Roediger, then Galbreath, he served as a real estate agent in Miami County. In their retirement years, he and Helen enjoyed many summers at their get-away near Traverse City, Michigan, and then opted in 1989 and since to winter in Venice, Florida. In every location, he was always busy with home improvement projects, yard work and keeping track of his much-loved OSU Buckeyes. A member of St. John's Catholic Church in Tipp City, Knights of Columbus and Post #586 American Legion, Paul also was a founding member of the TC Kiwanis Club some decades ago, supporting community youth activities.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 11, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 753 S. Hyatt St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. Father Andrew Smith, Celebrant. Burial to follow at St. John's Cemetery, Tipp City.
