Born December 12, 1947 in Dayton, OH to Gene and Sue (Presley) Barnes. She was a document editor at WPAFB for over 30 years. In August of 2008 Patti learned that she had colon cancer, she underwent treatment for one year at which point the cancer went into remission briefly for 3 months before it recurred. She was driven throughout her illness by her desire to see her young granddaughters graduate from high school, which sadly she did not accomplish. Preceded in death by her parents and her niece Sue Marie Newsome. Patti was known as sister, mom, but probably what she heard the most was "Grandma Patti". Surviving are her son Chris and his wife Jessie Vocke, Kettering, OH; sisters Lanna (Dewey) Newsome, NC and Connie (Brian) Meyers, Brookville, FL. And her very special granddaughters Keagyn and Georgia Vocke. She was Aunt Patti to her nephews Kevin Newsome; Kenny, Eddie, and Andy Partlow. She especially loved ceramics, training and showing dogs, watching old TV westerns, and more than anything else watching her beautiful granddaughters grow-up. She had a special love for all animals especially dogs, all kinds of butterflies and flowers. Among Patti's many qualities were that she was loving and caring and very strong and could make anyone she met smile and laugh. She would go out of her way to do anything she could for others. She was a proud of her job, home, and her entire family. Above all she was a wonderful mother.
