Abney, Nora J. age 84 of Tipp City; formerly of Bethel Township/Miami County, passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.  Born October 12, 1936 in Dayton, OH to the late Charles and Ruth {Lineman} Stumpf.  Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband; Leon Abney and brother; Charles Stumpf.

Nora and her husband were married in 1959 and raised 3 children; Leon "Lee" Abney Jr. (Denise Foster), Conover, OH, Lisa (Barry) Rauch, Morrow, OH, Laura (Kenny) Gratz, Tipp City, OH.  Along with her children she is survived by former daughter in-law; Bethany Abney, Tipp City, OH, sister; Linda Lester, Dayton, OH, brother; Don Groves, Kettering, OH,  grandchildren; Meghan Morrow, Nathaniel Abney, Nicholas & Natalie Gratz and Amanda Combs as well as great grandchildren; Lucas Abney, Lilly Morrow & baby Morrow, Cooper & Carmella Decker.

She graduated from Sinclair Community College in 1984 and worked as a Registered Nurse until her retirement from the Dayton VA.  She was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, enjoyed travelling and shopping.  Her greatest love was for her family. The family would like to thank Hospice of Miami County and private caregivers for their compassion, friendship, and nursing care.

Visitation 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME 327 W. Main St. Tipp City, OH 45371.  A Celebration of Life service will follow at 7:00 PM; Pastor Bonita Ritchie officiating.
