Mary Joy Johnson, age 88 of Tipp City, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2025. She was born August 9, 1937 in Cloquet, Minnesota to Rollin and Perdettia {Crotty} Engebritson. She is preceded in death by her parents, her soulmate Robert "Bob" Johnson, and her brother Michael (Lynn) Engebritson. She is survived by her children Michelle (Christopher) Taylor of Clayton, Ohio, Scott (Heather) Johnson of La Follette, Tennessee, Mitchell Cyrette of Duluth, Minnesota and Michael (Melissa) Cyrette of Grand Portage, Minnesota. Also surviving are grandchildren Blaine Johnson, Lynn Johnson, Hadley (Kenny) Williams, Caitlin (James) Taylor, Ethan Cyrette, Blythe (Holdin) McDaniel, Rylee Johnson, Caryss Johnson, Quinne Johnson and Michael Cyrette, great grandchildren River, Loucille, and Kasen.

Joy was a thoughtful homemaker, wife and mother to many. Joy and her husband Bob answered the call to become foster parents, opening their home to several children needing love and family. Joy was known as everyone's mom and grandma, embodying love and compassion. Her heart longed for her home in Minnesota, so she made regular trips to see extended family for the annual family "Tent City" in Duluth, MN. She enjoyed garage sale-ing, Goodwill-ing, listening to the Oakridge Boys and Kenny Rogers, and sipping a glass of Arbor Mist. She especially loved hosting holidays and spending time with her family, who were her pride and joy.

Joy was also an active member of the Tipp City Eagles Aerie 2201 for over 40 years. She served as Auxiliary President for several terms and held many other offices throughout her time.

Joy wanted her friends and family to celebrate her life, so her family has planned an intimate service and celebration of life for those closest to Joy.
