Obituary

Bell, Mary Margaret (Pfoutz) age 95 of Troy, passed away peacefully June 17th, 2014 at Walnut Creek Nursing Center, Kettering. Born July 6th, 1918 in Bellfontaine, Ohio later moving to Brandt to graduate from Bethel High School in 1937. She was the daughter of the late Sanford and Gertrude (Smith) Pfoutz. Mary is preceded in death by her husband Benjamin "Bennie" Bell of nearly 61 years on Dec. 11th, 2000; sister Alice Kinnison in 1951 (35), sister Nellie O'Diam in 1964 (50), brother Carl Pfoutz in 2004 (93) and sister Lucille Harris in 2007 (95). Mary and Ben were married Dec 23rd 1939 and made Troy their lifelong home. Ben was a wounded WW II veteran receiving a purple heart and worked at Buckeye Motor Service, Troy Sand and Gravel, and Harbor Brothers Scrapyards. Mary was a devoted wife, homemaker, and mother. She is survived by a daughter Darla (Bell) LeFever and her husband Robert LeFever, Riverside, Ohio; son Benjamin "Bennie" Bell and his wife Susan (Littlefield) Bell, Hudson, Florida; and grandaughter Amanda (LeFever) Hatfield and her husband Donald Hatfield II of Miamisburg. Great grandson Donald Hatfield, III "Trey". Private graveside services will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in loving memory of Mary.
