Oakes, Marvin Eugene age 70, of Tipp City, passed away Saturday September 6, 2015 at Spring Meade with Vitas Hospice. He was born April 20, 1945 in Troy, Ohio to Byron Eugene and Lavonna (June) Oakes. Marvin was preceded in death by both parents and his sister Marilyn Pfeiffer. He was survived by his children: Tony Oakes, Jesse Oakes, Kathy Oakes-Snow, Daniel Oakes and Rachel Goffinet, along with 10 grandkids and his extended family and friends. Marvin loved being outdoors: logging, wood splitting, hiking, camping, antique tractor shows, Paul Bunyan Shows and was all about survival that he learned as a Boy Scout. He loved his family and friends. There will be a Graveside Memorial Service and burial at Casstown Cemetery Saturday September 26, 2015 at 4pm. Following the service there will be a Celebration of Life for family and friends at Troy Amvets on Lefevere Rd. at 5pm for a carry in. In lieu of flowers family is asking for donations in loving memory of Marvin for a memorial park bench at Charleston Falls; a place he grew up in and loved, so we can all enjoy.
