Obituary

Moran, Marilyn Roberta {Phillips} formerly of Tipp City passed away on January 1, 2014 at Eden Hill Communities in New Braunfels, TX. She was born in Olive Hill, KY on February 26, 1940 to Clarence and Ruby {Carroll} Phillips. She is survived by her sister, Carolyn and brother in-law, Carl Angle, Troy, OH, nieces, Amy (Don) Fields, Troy and Amanda (Jim) Humbert, Grove City, OH. She also leaves behind 4 great- nieces; Delaney and Addisyn Fields, Morgan and Willa Humbert and 2 great-nephews; Henry and Oscar Humbert as well as ex-husbands with whom she remained friends; Art Moran, Alaska and Manny Gutierrez, Texas. Marilyn was a 1958 graduate of Tippecanoe High School and a 1962 graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in Business Administration and continued to be a big OSU booster in San Antonio, TX. In the 1960's and 1970's Marilyn taught high school classes at Tipp City, Covington and Urbana, OH and also taught many years in the San Antonio, TX area. She sold real estate for Roediger Realty and Galbreath Realty in Troy for many years before moving to San Antonio in 1987, where she was also a realtor. She was the member of many social and professional organizations and was quite active in her church fellowship group. Marilyn always loved Tipp City and referred to it as home. She enjoyed reminiscing about her many childhood friends and their adventures. She had spirit and enjoyed a good political discussion. She had a passion for travel and had toured Europe several times. A Celebration of Life will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371, Pastor, Bonita Wood officiating. Family will receive friends from Noon until the time of service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in loving memory of Marilyn to Hospice of Miami County.
