Clevenger, Margie N. age 97 of Troy, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Hospice of Miami County in Troy, Ohio. She was born July 28, 1928, in Olive Hill, Kentucky to the late Jake and Edith (Carroll) Nichols. Margie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl E. Clevenger, son Douglas Clevenger, brother Jack Nichols, son-in-law Phil Yahle, grandson Elijah Hall and granddaughter Janelle Booher. She is survived by her wonderful children Carolyn (Walter) Poe of Urbana, Sandy Yahle of West Milton, Richard (Cindy) Clevenger of Tipp City and daughter-in-law Mary Clevenger of Troy. Then came along the twinkle in any grandparents eyes, 11 lovely grandchildren; Brian (Shannon) Poe, Kerri (David) Beavers, Chrissy (Randy) Booher, Traci Clevenger, Lisa (Mike) Mahfouz, Rick (Jessica) Clevenger, J.C. (Laura) Clevenger, Katie (Jim) Crotty and Elizabeth (Jon) Shirk, Michael Mahfouz and Lindsey Mahfouz and 26 great grandchildren: Alyssa, Kyle, Cassey, Justin, Josh, Jessica, Jenna, Zachary, Derek, Leah, Leann, Madison, Caleb, Mackenzie, Audrey, Torey, Liam, Olivia, Bryn, Declan, Silas, Mila, Destiny, Dustin, Desiree and Skylar and 9+ great-great grandchildren: Jordan, Addison, Harper, Dean, Kiser, Posie, Bryson, Noelle, Skylar and two on the way and several special nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Margie spent most of her life in Tipp City, where she built many lasting friendships, and in her later years made her home in Troy. She was an active member of the Tipp City Seniors, a group that brought her great joy, especially through playing cards with her many wonderful friends. Margie was a woman of faith and attended Living Word Church in Vandalia, as well as Tipp City Global Methodist Church.
Throughout her life, Margie loved to travel and cherished the many places she was able to see. She especially loved the fall season, when football was in full swing, proudly cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes and enjoying professional football as well. She was also a devoted fan of the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. Margie would say "you're never bored when you can watch a good football game". Margie also loved line dancing, with her favorite songs being Rocky Top and Blue Rose. Spending time with her family meant everything to her, and she greatly enjoyed going out to dinner with her loved ones.
Margie wished to express her heartfelt gratitude to the Tipp City Seniors for their many cards and kind words, to her mail carrier for thoughtful acts of kindness, to the paper carrier who faithfully placed her paper between the doors, and to her neighbor, Robert, for his many kind deeds. The family would like to thank Hospice of Miami County for their awesome care and kindness.
A visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until time of service at 12:30 PM, Thursday, February 12, 2026, at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME , 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. Pastor Joel Murray officiating. Burial to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City.
