Louise Ray Curtis

Aged 89, of Troy, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010. Louise was born in Montgomery County on March 28, 1921 to Leonard G. and Ruth Behnken Ray. She graduated in 1940 from Elizabeth Township School and attended Wittenberg University and Miami-Jacobs Career College. She married William E. Curtis December 12, 1942 at the family home, Stonecrest. William preceded her in death in 2002. She is survived by three children: Lynn Louise Redinbo of Piqua, William See Curtis (Monica) of Troy, and Matthew Ray Curtis (Sue) of Troy. Grandchildren are Laura Lynn Loudon (Charles) of Madisonville, Tennessee; Michaella Loujean Quinter (Butch) and great-grandson Chase Michael of Piqua; Amanda Caroline Redinbo of Piqua; Staff Sergeant William Joseph Curtis, United States Marine Corp, (Alison) and great-grandchildren Macy and William of Stafford, Virginia; Caitlin Louise Curtis and fiancAC. Ryan Harper of Troy; Kent Curtis of Fairborn; step-grandson Jon Gebbie (Jen) and sons Jackson and Benjamin of Troy; step-great-grandchildren Brandi and Thomas Loudon of Indian Lake, Ohio. She is also survived by two sisters Carolyn Ruth Myers (Paul) of Batavia, Ohio, and Patricia Ann Carlson (Ramon) of Florida, one brother, Phillip Stanton Ray (Jacqueline) of Troy, and one sister-in-law, Josephine Ray of Memphis, Tennessee. Preceding her in death were sister Betty Myers, and brothers Leonard G. Ray and Private Eldin Lee Ray, who was killed in Italy in World War II. Louise was a founding member of Troy Junior Altrurian Club, 4-Ways Neighborhood Club, and the Elizabeth Township Historical Society. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Tipp City and was an organist and choir member for over 50 years. She was Secretary/Treasurer of Curtis Trucking, Inc. She will be missed by many relatives, friends, and caregivers. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to Hospice of Miami County or the Zion Lutheran Church music department. Visitation is Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Tipp City, Ohio . The funeral is Thursday, May 6, at the church at 10:00 a.m. Interment is at Casstown Cemetery. Arrangements were by Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home, Tipp City, Ohio.
