Rowland (Ball), Lois, 94 died peacefully on Friday July 15, 2016 at Randall Residence of Tipp City, OH. She was born on January 11, 1922 in Brookside, KY to Rufus M. Ball and Myrtle Stewart Ball. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Dennis W. Ball and Earl D. Ball and her loving husband of 49 years, Fred V. Rowland. Lois is survived by her daughters, Judy A.Jewett-Hobbs (Walter) of Atlanta, GA, Helen J. Diaguila of Englewood, FL, Lois Carolyn Gallehue of Tipp City, OH and Vera Rowland-Waldman (John) of Ashland, OH, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She graduated from Margaret Hall High School in Versailles, KY and attended the University of Kentucky. During World War II Lois taught grades 1 through 8 in a one room school in Verda, KY. She later taught 5th and 6th grades at Black Mountain School. Lois was an active member of the Mt. Healthy United Methodist Church during the seventeen years the family lived in Cincinnati. She was also as a longtime member of the St. John's United Methodist Church in Ocala, FL where she and Fred retired. In 2005 Lois moved to Tipp City, OH where she made many new friends. She attended the Tipp City United Methodist Church. She will be missed by her family and friends old and new. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday August 7, 2016 at Randall Residence of Tipp City Community Room. Her ashes will be interred at St. John's Cemetery, Cottonplant, FL at a later date.
