Lyons, Lawrence "Larry" Calvert 78 of Tipp City passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, OH. Born March 29, 1935 in New Germany, OH to the late Victor and Lillian {Smith} Lyons. He is also preceded in death by brother; Bill Lyons and in-laws; Lester and Anna Wilson. Larry is survived by his wife of 56 years; Monna Lyons, whom he lovingly called "Sam", children; Butch Lyons, Troy, Kelly and her husband Buddy Walker, Tipp City, Jeff and his wife Debbie Lyons, West Milton, Brian and his wife Jenny Lyons, Tipp City, sister; Joan Bussey, New Carlisle, brother; Ronnie (Judy) Lyons, Springfield, sister; Cynthia (John) McWilliams, New Carlisle, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved. Larry is a 1953 graduate of Tecumseh High School, retired from Mutual Electric after 42 years of service and was a member of IBEW Local 82. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather; He was our rock. He loved and taught us well and made us laugh. Larry will be so terribly missed by those who knew him well. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371, Father Ken Hemmell officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Tipp City. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
