Larry G. Brewer passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2022 following a lengthy illness. He was 80.

He was born October 14, 1941 in Galion to the late Wilbur and Katherine (Schelk) Brewer and graduated from Johnsville High School. He was known throughout the area for playing football, where he still holds seven on seven state football records.

A U.S. Army veteran, Larry served two years as a military policeman, where he was decorated with a Good Conduct Medal as a sharpshooter.

Larry loved to golf, fish, vacation in Florida, working in the yard and raising his roses. He was a die-hard fan of the Buckeyes, Browns, Flyers, Reds, Indians, and Bengals – whoever was winning and no matter how many times they broke his heart. But, most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He and his wife, Carol, owned and operated four Dairy Queen stores in the area for 31 years, where Larry continued to work until he fell ill last October. Prior to that, Larry worked as a salesman at the family-owned business, Ernst Aggregate, for many years.

Larry's final meal was a hot fudge DQ sundae.

In addition to his wife of 52 years, Carol Brewer (Ernst), he is survived his three children Stacie, Steve and Nikki Brewer; siblings Maxine Hildebrand and Nancy Long; brother-in-law Robert Walker; and many cherished extended family members and friends. Much to his dismay, he had no grandchildren – as Carol likes to remind everyone.

Larry was preceded in death by siblings LaDonna Walker, Carroll Brewer, Riley Brewer, Daryl Brewer, and Rollin Brewer.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 21, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, at Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home , 327 W. Main St. Tipp City, Ohio 45371. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home the following day, Tuesday, March 22, at 11:30 AM.
