June Wampler Kyle passed away peacefully on April 1. She was preceded in death by her parents Ward Wampler and Cleo Wampler Puterbaugh and granddaughter Lydia Johnsen. She is survived by her loving husband Jim, children Jennifer Peters (Dave Nordstrom), Thom Grim (Nina), Dave Grim (Kelly), and Kate Johnsen (Rick); eleven grandchildren Jamie Peters (Lyndsay), Brad Peters (Whitney), Noelle Frazee (Chris), Holly Hugh (Gene), Liz Polk (Hannah), Sammi Clausi, Melanie Clark (Nathan), Sarah Reed (Drew), Angela Grim, Becca Johnsen and Dylan Johnsen. Twelve great grandchildren Jack and Benjamin Peters; Connor, Jack and Ava Frazee; Caroline, Han, Millie and Owen Hugh; Graham Polk; Davis and Will Clark.
She was active in the community with organizations such as Civic Club, Tipp City Athletic Boosters, and the UVMC Foundation Board. She was a member of Tipp City United Methodist Church for more than 70 years and chaired many committees and the United Methodist Women. She was also in the handbell choir. She was the National Executive Secretary for CISV and served as the adult delegate to a CISV village in the Philippine Islands. She and husband Jim were honored as Philanthropists of the Year in 2015 by the Tipp City Foundation. She worked for Tipp City Schools as a building secretary and as L.T. Ball's secretary, and as Executive Director of the American Cancer Society chapters of Miami and Montgomery Counties.
June loved to be surrounded by family and loved ones. She had an open smile and an open door. She never knew a stranger.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 10 and the funeral service on Wednesday, April 11 at 10:30. All will be held at Tipp City United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Kyle Family Fund of the Tipp City Foundation (www.tippfoundation.org) or the Tipp City UMC Memorial Fund.
