Smith, Joseph E. age 72 of Tipp City, OH passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, OH.  Born January 14, 1947 in Dayton, OH to Joseph C. and Opal {Harrison} Smith.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Opal Smith, and daughter, Elizabeth Smith.  Joe is survived by his father, Joseph C. Smith, Chiefland, Fl, loving wife of 48 years, Karen {Arnett} Smith, daughter, Lisa (Shawn) Richards, Tipp City, OH, sister, April Smith, Chiefland, FL and 3 granddaughters, Laely & Maya Bishop and Allison Hempy all of Tipp City, OH.

Joe was a 1965 graduate of Milton Union High School and a graduate of Capitol University, Columbus, OH.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam.  Joe worked as the treasurer of Tipp City Public Schools for many years.  He loved vacationing in Myrtle Beach, enjoying a good meal with family and friends in local Tipp City eateries; where he would imbibe Manhattans while telling one of his infamous "Joe Jokes".    Joe's love for his family and friends, good humor and quick wit will be missed by all who had the honor to know and love him.
