Scott, John Joseph Jr. 77 of Troy, OH passed away on Monday, February 02, 2015 at Troy Care Center. Born April 6, 1937 in Pawtucket, RI to John J. Scott Sr. and Mildred {Bubier} Scott Tamany. He is preceded in death by his mother, one sister, Tammy Tamany and his step-father, Joe Tamany. His is survived by his loving wife, Josephine Carol {Przybyszewski} Scott, children; Karen Scott, Tipp City, John J. (Patricia) Scott, III, Troy, OH, Michael J. (Carolyn) Scott, Crofton, MD, siblings; Shirley Carroll, Pawtucket, RI, Millie (Wyman) Hallstrom, Coventry, RI, Jodie (Ken) Healy, Seekonk, MA, Patrick (Lynn) Tamany, Boynton Beach, FL along with grandchildren; Anthony (Katy) Scott, Aaron (Melissa) Scott all of Troy, OH, Joshua (Meagan) Scott, Dallas, TX, Brandon Duckro, Dayton, OH, Elizabeth Scott, Huber Heights, OH, Michael F. Scott and Catherine Scott both of Crofton, MD also surviving are great grandchildren; Landon & Addyson Scott, Troy, OH, Owen & Laney Scott, Troy, OH and Maddison & Brecklynn Scott, Dallas, TX. John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean and Vietnam War era. He worked for the United States Government in the Military Security Police retiring after 22 years of service and then served as Chief of Information Security at Wright Patterson Air Force Base retiring in 1993. John also worked as a Miami County Sheriff's Deputy from 1977-1979. He was a member of the Odd Fellows, Tipp City, Fraternal Order of Police, American Legion Post 586, Tipp City, Air Force Security Forces Association, Sampson Air Force Base Association and Pleiku Air Base Association. John was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Carlisle and was very active in the Knights of Columbus, where he was a fourth degree member as well as twice past Grand Knight. Prior to his failing health he enjoyed solving the problems of the world with his friends in the Francis's Barber Shop Coffee Klatch and loved to drive his truck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Sacred Heart Church, 205 W. Lake Ave., New Carlisle, OH 45344; burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Tipp City. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371 and half hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
