Joanne Margaret (Muro) Hale January 7, 1938
Joanne, age 76 passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, February 10,
2014, at SpringMeade Health Center in Tipp City, Ohio, after an extended
illness and courageous battle to recover.
She was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of Peter and Julia
Muro. She was preceeded in death by her parents; a sister, Genevieve
Muro Urban and nephew Gary Urban.
She graduated from St. John Cantius High School in Cleveland, Ohio in 1956,
and was a proud graduate of St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing Class of
1959, where she began her passionate healthcare journey caring for others.
Joanne was the Administrative Director at Sunrise Center in Montgomery
County, where she helped many people with much needed support and social
services. Joanne was also the active Director of Nursing at Stillwater
Convalescence Center. She participated in the organization and initiation
of the federal Head Start program in Miami, Darke, Preble, Van Wert and Auglaize counties. Her most passionate position was that of a Neonatal
intensive care nurse at Barney's Children's Medical Center in Dayton, OH.
Joanne and David Hale were married in August 1959 and were parents of
three children left to cherish her memory: daughter, Lisa Hale of Vandalia,
daughter, Jennifer Detrick-Myers and son-in-law, Joseph Myers, and son
Christopher Hale, all of Tipp City and daughter in-law Renena Hale of Fairborn.
She was a devoted and loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother
and is survived by her grandchildren: Zachary Hale, Amber Hale, Ross Hale,
Emily Hale, Austin Hottle, Benjamin Detrick, Jamie Myers, and Jennifer
Myers. Her Great Grandchildren are, Sherry Hale, Jayden Hale and
Tristan Myers. She is also survived by a special niece Janine Urban Metheny, beloved
brother in-law John Urban and loving sister in-laws Phyllis Hale and Frances Allen.
Joanne was a member of Soroptimist International, professional women's
organization, and the Ya-Ya- Sisterhood, friends who shared a flair for
fun and hospitality. She opened her home to many, and loved the holidays,
especially the Christmas season. Joanne was an amazing woman with a
beautiful spirit and comforting heart. Those fortunate to know her were truly
blessed.
She will be greatly missed and will forever remain in our hearts.

She was a devoted member of the Catholic faith and her celebration of life
will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church located
at 753 S. Hyatt Street in Tipp City, Ohio on Friday February 14, 2014,
at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior at the church, burial at Maple Hill
Cemetery, in Tipp City, Ohio.
