Obituary

Heffner, Jean P. 81 of Tipp City passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014 at SpringMeade Health Center, Tipp City. Born March 3, 1932 in Boston, MA to the late Clarence and Medina (Celle) Richards. She is survived by her children; Steve and his wife Jill Heffner, Tipp City, Diane and her husband Jim Foster, Odessa, FL and Laurie Hedges (Frank Zeller), Pagosa Springs, CO, sister; Vivian Deutsch, MA, 6 grandchildren; Heather (Curt) Lunsford, Tony (Amanda) Heffner, Christopher (Kristel) Kirchner, Jenny (Jason Fox) Heffner, Christina (Mike Boyd) Hedges and Amanda Jones and 6 great grandchildren. Jean served in the United States Army WAC's as a Sergeant during the Korean War, was honored to be included in the Women's War Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery, and was a member of the American Legion Post #586, Tipp City. She was a retired secretary and later worked for Walmart in Huber Heights and Englewood. She enjoyed doing ceramics and was a huge Cincinnati Red's Fan. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 28, 2014 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371. Contributions may be made in loving memory of Jean to the KWVA Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 51, Lewes, DE 19958.
