Couvillon, Jan Marie age 58 of Tipp City, Ohio passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025 after a courageous 7 year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born December 28, 1966 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Lowell and Marti {Yonker} Buitendorp. Jan is survived by her loving husband Steve Couvillon of Tipp City, Ohio children Austin Couvillon of Athens, Ohio and Emily Couvillon of Upper Arlington, Ohio. She is also survived by her brothers Bruce (Pam) Buitendorp of Newport, Kentucky and Jeff (Lesley) Buitendorp of Circleville, Ohio and many nephews and nieces in Ohio and Virginia.

Jan grew up in a few different locations across western Michigan and northern Indiana before spending her high school years in Circleville, OH. She was an avid Band kid from a Band family in a Band town (Pumpkin Show Band), which of course led her to the Marching 110 of Ohio University and a 1989 degree in Social Work. After 11 years of Social Work in Cincinnati and a Xavier Master's Degree along the way, she retired in 2001 to become a passionate stay at home mom in Lebanon and then Tipp City after 2005. This included six years as a Girl Scout leader and a wide array of volunteer activities mostly centered on the kids. She was also an avid dog lover and gardener who lived every aspect of her life consistently thinking of others and the world at large before herself.  Jan was a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by many.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home , 327 W. Main St. 45371. The burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City.
