Collins, James Peter "Jim" age 77 of Tipp City passed away peacefully Saturday, January 13, 2018 in his home. Born August 4, 1940 in Dayton, OH to the late James D. and Alberta {Volk} Collins. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his soulmate and life partner, Karen R. Caldwell. Throughout his life he touched many hearts through selfless acts of kindness; he will be deeply missed by family and friends. Jim was respected and loved by many. He is survived by brothers, Mike (Carla) Collins, Terry Collins, son, Mark Collins, Tipp City. Jim is also survived by Karen Caldwell's sons, John L. Caldwell, Gary M. Caldwell, daughter, Tracey L. Gabbard, and granddaughters, Taryn J. Gee, Autumn P. Caldwell, Jordan A. Felty, Ellie M. Caldwell and grandson, Harley D. Billhimer, and 5 wonderful great grandchildren. Jim graduate in 1958 from Chaminade Julienne High School. He retired from KTM Builders as a Custom Home Builder/Contractor. Jim was a very talented builder; including custom homes in Miami and Montgomery County and was the president of the Home Builder's Association 1973-1974 and again in 1979. He loved his family and enjoyed watching them grow up and participate in a wide range of sports and activities. At Jim's request his body will be donated to The Ohio State University for the advancement of science. A memorial service will be held at Noon on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Tipp City Eagles Aerie 2201, 202 E. Main St. Arrangements have been entrusted to FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME.
