Schneider, James "Jim" Frederick, 84, of Tipp City, Ohio passed away on October 29, 2022. He was born on August 1, 1938 in Wapakoneta, Ohio. He graduated from Sidney High School. Jim is predeceased by his father, Frederick Schneider, mother Viola Slonkosky Schneider, wife Paula June (Perry) Schneider, and daughter Stephanie Ann Schneider. Jim is survived by his wife of 22 years Janice {Johnson} Schneider, first wife, Elizabeth (Utz) Bayne, their children, Cynthia (Dan) Ernst, Diana (Dwayne) Asher, Victoria (Jim) Smith, Mark James (Gretchen) Schneider, and Emily Schneider Schlaack. Ten grandchildren, Nicholas Ernst, Benjamin (Erica) Ernst, Sara (Levi Short) Schneider, Erika (Jesse) Ward, Kailey (Zach) Brown, Kirstyn (Brandon Buehler) Schneider, Karmyn (Kevin Zickel) Schneider, Karli (Zach) Schmerge, Paula Schlaack, Ramona Schneider, and nine great grandchildren, two sisters, Janet Dodd, and Judith Brandewie, and two brothers, Dave (Connie) Schneider, and Mike (Mary) Schneider.
Jim retired from Delphi as an engineer after 33 years of service. He designed varies panels for General Motor vehicles. He traveled to Germany several different times for his work. He received several awards of merit while employed at General Motors. He was a talented mechanic and had a vast knowledge of cars of all kinds. Jim loved his German heritage and researched it with his wife, Jan. He was a nature lover, and he and Jan enjoyed studying different types of birds and other wildlife. He had a hobby of woodcarving in the past and was talented in that field also. He loved the Great Lakes, studying lighthouses, and especially loved Marblehead Lighthouse. Jim had a wonderful sense of humor and quick wit and his fellow workers said that he kept them in stiches. Most importantly, Jim was a Christian and credited his mother with him becoming a Christian early in life.
Funeral services will be held at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371, Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 11:00 AM. Pastor Chris Heckaman presiding. Visitation 9:30 AM until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make any donations to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County, 3230 N. County Rd. 25A, Troy, Ohio 45373.
