James Bryan Wilson (Jim,) age 70, peacefully passed away at the Laurels in Huber Heights on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. He was born on September 3, 1955, in Springfield, Ohio. He was the only son of Colleen and Robert Wilson who preceded him in death. James is survived by seven loving sisters. Susan Quealy of the Villages, Fl., Kathleen DuPree of Cincinnati, OH., Elizabeth Simpkins (David) of Centerville, OH., Cynthia Dillard of Tipp City, OH., Rebecca Wilson of Dayton OH., Margaret Bush (Brian) of Liberty Township, OH., and Carolyn Price (James) of Tipp City, OH. He is also survived by his daughter Lori and her husband Ben of Springboro, OH. and 12 nieces and nephews. Jim's greatest love and pride was his family, and he enjoyed and looked forward to every moment with them.
Jim attended Tippecanoe High School and was a member of the class of 1974. During his youth he worked at the Tip Top Cannery, The Miami Conservatory District and the Sidney Foundry. He also hitchhiked all over the country and often shared memories with his sisters. His fondest memories were the beaches in Florida as well as the majestic Redwoods in California. Jim was a lover of nature, and he had an extra keen sense of nature. He could tell you just about anything about forest animals. birds or fish. One time while driving, he randomly pointed out the eagle's nest on I-75 near Piqua. As a child he could pick up snapping turtles, big snakes, opossums, bumblebees and even spiders with no fear. Sometimes he would bring home orphaned baby animals to care for. In recent years he loved collecting walnuts to feed squirrels. His very favorite pastime was fishing. Jim could reel in the biggest catfish or bass, a small bluegill and sometimes a turtle. He knew where to find worms and crawdads and was always on the lookout for a new fishing spot.
Jim was an extremely kind and giving person with a unique and quick sense of humor. Growing up in a family of girls, naturally he loved to shop. His favorite purchases were coats, jackets, vests and hats. He really loved hats and Jim looked good in any kind of hat, from a Stetson Cowboy hat to an Elmer Fudd winter cap. Jim was loved by all that met him because he was so easygoing and never liked to make a fuss. He was also a very giving person, always buying things for friends, roommates or family members and even strangers. Jim will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
