Obituary

Nichols, Jack "Nick", 80 Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Tipp City and Troy, Ohio passed away peacefully Sunday October 17, 2010 in Louisville. Born in Olive Hill Kentucky July 5, 1930 to the late Jake and Edith {Carroll} Nichols. Nick was a faithful and loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donia {Caldwell} Nichols, children; Mike Nichols, Floyds Knobs, IN, Kathy Nichols and her husband David Ratchford, Schroon Lake, NY, David and his wife Dorothy "Dusty" Nichols, Griffith, IN, one sister; Margie Clevenger, Troy, OH, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Nick served 20 years in the United States Air Force during the Korean and Viet Nam wars, followed by 17 years of civil service as an air traffic controller at WPAFB and was a 20 year member of Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Nick was a very quiet man who loved his family and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral service, 11:00 AM, Friday October 22, 2010 at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME 327 W. Main St. Tipp City, Ohio 45371, Pastor Dan Williams officiating. Burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. Visitation 5 to 8 PM Thursday at the Funeral Home. Contributions may be made in Nick's name to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
