Miller, Harold Earl passed away peacefully on September 10, 2017 surrounded by family in Troy, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Miller and Lucille Demmitt Plummer.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Robin, his son David (Emily) Miller and daughter Sarah (Jason) Byram along with 11 grandchildren. Sammi, Seth, Nick, Tristan, Austin, Jaiden, Zoey, Addison, Will, Isaac and Claire. He is also survived by friend and brother-in-law Scott (Sandra) Gordon and nephews Brendan and Raymond Gordon.
Harold was born on October 11, 1938 in Dayton, Oh. He graduated from Bethel High School in 1956 and took great joy in remaining friends with his graduating class of 20. Most especially Lugh and Caroline Dixon and John and Judy Miller.
In 1958, Harold attended and graduated from the University of Dayton earning an Associates Degree in Engineering with a specialty in Electrical Technology. He spent the last ten years of his career at Motoman as a senior designer creating robots.
Harold spent 6 years in the Army Reserve and had a great love for our country.
Some of things that Harold enjoyed was jazz music as his father was a jazz musician. He also was lighting director for Tipp City Players for many years, was the founding member of a group to form the Bethel Township Sheriff patrols, he founded and ran a golf league for many years at Sheffield Company. Harold was a member of Ginghamsburg Church, greatly loved his dachshund, Snoopy and was always willing to help anyone in need.
His greatest legacy was loving his family, knowing the Lord and providing more than just the material things of this world but also in his own quiet manner, teaching his children to have a good work ethic, to have integrity and be kind.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 30 from 2-4 pm at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, Tipp City with a memorial service immediately following at 4 pm led by the Rev. Dr. Michael B. Slaughter.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Miami County Hospice.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Troy Care for their excellent and gracious care and support for Harold's nine months in residence.
