IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gordon Howard
Honeyman
February 10, 1939 – March 1, 2026
Honeyman, Gordon Howard age 87 of Tipp City, Ohio passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026. He was born February 10, 1939 in Troy, Ohio to the late Paul and Gladys {Henderson} Honeyman. Gordon is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Joyce Eberle, George Honeyman, Michael Honeyman and Carolyn Royer. He is survived by brother John Honeyman of New York City and sister Rebecca “Becky” (Norman) Long of Tipp City and several cherished nieces and nephews.
Gordon was a lifelong resident of his beloved Tippecanoe. Born and raised in the town he loved, Gordon graduated from Tippecanoe High School in 1957 before continuing his education at The Ohio State University, where he earned his degree in 1961. His pride in both his hometown and his alma maters never faded.
In his early years, Gordon served his country in the United States Army and then moved to New York City. Very early on though, Gordon knew Tippecanoe was his home and he returned, where he had a long and distinguished career with Merrill Lynch. Gordon truly loved his work, and he made many lifelong friends.
Gordon loved and generously supported his community. His support of the Tipp City Foundation, the Tippecanoe Historical Society, and his membership in American Legion Post 586 and the United Methodist Church reflected his belief in community and giving back. He was a familiar face around town—often seen walking downtown, at a high school sporting event, at the Wednesday night church dinner, striking up friendly conversations, and sharing stories with those lucky enough to cross his path.
His legacy to his family and friends was being present. He cherished those closest to him, offering support, encouragement, and kindness. Gordon had a special gift for celebrating the lives of those who had gone before us, and he always had a story to share that helped shape our lives.
Gordon’s legacy is one of loyalty, service, and heartfelt connection for his community, and most importantly, the people he loved. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Gordon’s life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Tipp City Global Methodist Church, 8 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. The time of the gathering is pending.
