Glenna M. Grove, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, at StoryPoint Tipp City. Born Glenna Jackson on May 22, 1930, in Troy, Ohio, she entered this world with a spirit destined to touch many lives. Surrounded by her loving family and serenaded by the song of a robin outside her window, Glenna passed through Heaven’s gate with grace and love.
A proud graduate of Tippecanoe High School’s Class of 1948, Glenna held the position of Class Secretary and shared a special bond with her high school sweetheart, Jack C. Grove, who became her devoted husband of 72 years. Together, they built a life filled with love and family in their hometown. Long before her passing, Glenna had already laid down roots in Tipp City, where she would nurture countless lives.
Before dedicating herself to motherhood, Glenna worked as a secretary at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Later, following her heart’s calling, she became a preschool teacher at the Little Lighthouse Preschool. There, her joy radiated as she immersed herself in the laughter and wonder of children, delighting in sharing stories about Jesus and nurturing their young hearts and minds.
Growing up, Glenna cherished helping her parents, Harold Sr. and Pauline {Eberwein} Jackson, at their beloved restaurant, Polly’s Sandwich Shop. This early experience of hard work and community spirit shaped her character and her deep appreciation for family and service.
Glenna’s passions extended beyond her career and family. She found great joy in gardening and canning vegetables, her hands tending with love to the soil that gave life. Music filled her days, with the piano keys often playing melodies that soothed and inspired. Simple pleasures such as indulging in chocolate ice cream and savoring homemade sweet tea brought a smile to her face and warmth to her heart.
Her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother—a legacy she leaves behind in the arms of her daughters Teresa (Rick) Kinnison and Barbara (David) Lillich. She was a proud grandmother to thirteen grandchildren: Cami, Quinten, Tracy, Travis, Lukas, Melanie, Emily, Ben, Brent, Brandis, Nikkia, Amber, and Robby. Beyond them, Glenna's love blossomed in a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who continue to carry her memory forward.
Glenna was preceded in death by her loving parents Harold Jackson Sr. and Pauline {Eberwein} Jackson; her devoted husband Jack C. Grove; her sons Lance and Robert Grove, daughter Vicki English; and her siblings John, Harold Jr., and Jerry Jackson.
Friends and family are invited to honor and celebrate Glenna’s life at Community Bible Church, 1427 W. Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371. Visitation will be held on May 5, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m with Pastor Jeff Seekins officiating. Glenna will be laid to rest with her husband at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Tipp City. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that those wishing to honor Glenna’s memory consider making a memorial contribution to Ohio’s Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Glenna M. Grove’s life was a testament to love, faith, and family. Her kindness, laughter, and gentle spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the cherished memories of a woman who lived fully and loved deeply, whose legacy will blossom as timeless as the garden she so tenderly nurtured.
