George L. Anstadt, 81 of Tipp City, beloved and gentle husband, father and grandfather passed away in the early morning hours of August 1, 2013. He was born in Montoursville, PA on November 30, 1931. Dr. Anstadt was the owner of the Anstadt Animal Hospital in the Tipp City/New Carlisle area and until recently still a practicing veterinarian. He also helped establish the Upper Heights Veterinary Clinic in Huber Heights and the All Pets Animal Hospital in Oakwood. George received degrees from the Pennsylvania State University as well as the School of Veterinary Medicine and Graduate School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He was a diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine. Dr. Anstadt was a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force, whose career included the Aerospace Program/Mercury Project, a tour in Vietnam and research in cardiovascular physiology. He is internationally recognized for developing the "Anstadt Heart Cup" which has saved a number of lives. He is survived by his loving wife Inge, two sons; Mark and Sven, 4 grandchildren; Tristan, Hunter, Madison and Olivia as well as his brother in-law; Peter Schiff and his family, sister in-law; Elizabeth Anstadt and many other family members. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 8:00 PM at FRINGS AND BAYLIFF FUNERAL HOME, 327 W. Main St., Tipp City, Ohio 45371. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Webster Cemetery, Huntersville, PA at a later date.
