IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Garry Lee
Yunker
October 1, 1935 – September 30, 2025
Yunker, Garry Lee age 89 of Troy, Ohio passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025. He was born October 1, 1935 in Inwood, Iowa to Roy and Caroline {Serck} Yunker. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, wife Phylis A. Yunker, brothers Donald Yunker and Owen Yunker, brothers in-law Jim Robinson and Harry Binneboese and granddaughter Khristeen. He is survived by his children Laura (Rob) Diltz of Tipp City and Keith (Heather) Yunker of Troy, Ohio, siblings, Kent (Nina) Yunker of Lewistown, Montana, Rose Robinson of Baltic, South Dakota and Nadine Binneboese and sister in-law Joy Yunker. Also surviving are grandchildren Bennett and Ian Yunker.
Garry proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Tipp City. After retiring from US Air as a Station Agent, Garry remained active and social, maintaining a close-knit group of friends and participating in the Honor Flight on two occasions—an experience he cherished. A man of many interests, Garry enjoyed volunteering at WACO, spending time outdoors, tinkering, gardening, and woodworking. He also worked as a maintenance man at Overfield Early Childhood Program, where he was a familiar and friendly face. He loved traveling back to his home state of Iowa and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's baseball games. Garry never met a stranger—his friendly nature left an impression on everyone he met. Above all, his family meant the world to him.
